GD x Taeyang releases director’s cut of “Good Boy” MV

On November 24th, GD x Taeyang  released a behind-the-scenes cut of the music video for “Good Boy,” where director Colin Tilley gives his commentary on the making of the video.

Colin Tilley is an award winning music video director who has worked with artists such as Chris Brown, Enrique Inglesias, Nicki Minaj, Usher, and Zendaya. He has won several awards for his music videos and this is his first work with a Korean artist.

Tilley talks about the concept of the video and how he wanted to bring a more raw style than any of their previous music videos. There was a greater usage of handheld cameras to give the viewer the feeling as if they were right there with G-Dragon and Taeyang. The director also points out that although the choreography was done in South Korea, the dancers were all hired in Los Angeles, so the first time that GD and Taeyang danced with their dancers was on set.

Through this video, Tilley also wanted to show viewers how he represents the power duo, which is a little different from the style that VIPs may be used to.

Meanwhile, “Good Boy” has already reached three million views in just 39 hours, quickly passing six million views and counting, and will be holding their first “Good Boy” performance at 2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards.
