10 Classic K-Pop Songs You Probably Forgot You Used To Love

You’re welcome for bringing them back!

Compared to some other classic K-Pop songs that will never ever be forgotten, the popularity of some other songs has slowly faded away. It doesn’t matter if they were your jam back in the day or how many awards they won, you might have forgotten just how special these songs were to you. So we’re going to bring them back to your attention so you can fall in love with them again!

1. Rainbow — “A”

When Rainbow released “A” in 2010, it peaked at no. 3 on the charts proving that it was a hit. Unfortunately, the ab flashing dance moves were deemed too sexy for television and it was banned from being broadcast. Even the music video for the song had an age restriction attached to it.

Despite the restrictions, Hyunyoung‘s fancam performance has one of the highest view counts! Many “A” stans believe the song was way too ahead of its time and that’s why not many newer fans know about this treasure, but as to why the older fans don’t always remember it, nobody has a clue.

2. KARA — “Step”

“Step” was released as the lead single for KARA‘s third Korean album and was an immediate success. It came in second on Korea’s Billboard charts and Japan’s best selling digital singles chart. To top it off, it was put on the “List of 21 Greatest K-Pop Songs of All Time” by Spin magazine. The fun and fresh song and accompanying music video still make it a total bop today but some people seem to have forgotten all about it!

3. 2AM — “Can’t Let You Go Even If I Die”

This song was part of 2AM‘s 6-track mini-debut album. The tracks on the album were actually written by Big Hit Entertainment found Bang Si Hyuk and each of them was a huge success. The album topped many charts with “Can’t Let You Go Even If I Die” taking first place in the singles category. It even beat out Girls’ Generation‘s “Oh” and CNBLUE‘s “I’m A Loner”!

Another track, “I Was Wrong” made a huge impact on the Gaon digital chart and singles charts. Add in the fact that in 2010,  8 out of the top 100 songs of the year according to the Gaon Digital Chart were by 2AM. So it’s kind of astounding that only certain people seem to remember these hits.

4. UKISS — “Neverland”

When the music video for “Neverland” was released it reached 730,000 views in 72 hours and reached a total of 1,000,000 views within the next two days. This was a pretty huge accomplishment 2011! And the song also made it onto Billboard Korea K-Pop Hot 100.

The song has also inspired a few different covers by newer artists, but sometimes it seems like the song is all but forgotten.

5. BIGBANG — “Tonight”

Sandwiched between the game-changing “Haru Haru” and the group’s “Fantastic Baby” era, “Tonight” sometimes gets lost. But there are plenty of reasons why it shouldn’t be. Not only is the song a total party anthem, but it was a huge success when it was released. It topped multiple charts and ended up being the eighth best selling single of the year. Billboard even named it as one of the top BIGBANG songs to listen to! “Tonight” definitely shouldn’t be forgotten!

6. BEAST — “Fiction”

When “Fiction” was released the song topped multiple charts and even won the Song of the Year at KBS Music Festival. The song is a total classic that every Beauty knows but perhaps due to leaving Cube Entertainment and reforming as HIGHLIGHT, this song doesn’t always get remembered outside the fandom. So get to listening and fall in love all over again!

7. After School — “Because Of You”

Shortly after the song was released, the song topped various online charts in South Korea. It was an instant hit and achieved a daily and weekly all-kill. The song also went on to win a triple crown at Inkigayo and dominated sales charts. The song has sold over 20,000 copies in South Korea, but for some reason, fans have all but forgotten this gem. You’re welcome for bringing it back!

8. 2NE1 — “Falling In Love”

2NE1 songs will always be iconic but “Falling In Love” is hardly ever mentioned among their songs, which is really a shame. The reggae, electronic, hip-hop style makes it a great song and when it was released everyone seemed to have that opinion. It topped several charts, won a few awards, and the music video gained over 1,000,000 views in less than a day. Seriously, we know you loved it then, so we’re bringing it back for you to enjoy once again!

9. 2PM — “Go Crazy”

Perhaps a little bit overshadowed by some of 2PM‘s other hits, “Go Crazy” reached no. 3 and no. 4 on the album charts. The fun and funky music video and danceable beat make this a perfect song for a club, but besides when it was released, there aren’t many people who regularly bop out to this song.

10. IU and HIGH4 — “Not Spring, Love, Or Cherry Blossoms”

“Not Spring, Love, Or Cherry Blossoms” is one of those songs you just kind of forget exists outside of springtime.
