Here Are 5 Random Facts You Didn’t Know About “Crash Landing On You” Actor Hyun Bin

Does #1 make him infinitely hotter or what?

The hit K-Drama Crash Landing On You may have ended, but the beloved Captain Ri Jeong Hyeok still has us swoon-watching again (and again and again 🙃). And with each re-binge session, only one thing grows more crystal clear: Actor Hyun Bin is heaven-sent. We can’t get enough of him — with or without North Korean soldiers chasing him in the background. And so, without further ado, here are 5 random but important facts about Hyun Bin you didn’t know before — but now you do. Thank us later!

1. His Sports

Hyun Bin’s athleticism is well known. He took swimming pretty seriously for a whole decade, since he was 6 years old. Once he debuted, he took up the pitcher position on the celebrity baseball team, the Playboys. He also likes to play golf and has picked up on boxing and martial arts after experiencing it via a role.

2. His Hobby

In a lot of his previous interviews, Hyun Bin revealed that he loves to collect and make Gundam plastic models.

3. His Romances

Throughout his career, he has “officially” dated three actresses. In 2007, he dated actress Hwang Ji Hyun for less than a year. Then in 2009, he dated actress Song Hye Kyo. The two split up in 2011. In 2016, he dated actress Kang So Ra. These two went separate ways in 2017.  His latest dating rumor involved his Crash Landing On You co-star actress Son Ye Jin.

4. His Dream

When Hyun Bin was in middle school, he wanted to become a police officer. He had no interest in becoming an actor.

5. His Background Story

In high school, however, Hyun Bin casually joined the school’s drama club — and that’s where his interest sparked. Hyun Bin’s father was extremely against his decision to pursue a career in acting though. His father had “bigger plans” for him, coming from a family of professionals in the world of business and law. Once, Hyun Bin got into a lot of trouble when his father caught him rehearsing plays behind the family’s back. His father ended up smacking him on the knee with a baseball bat. To make up for this bit of an incident, his father allowed him to try applying to Chung Ang University’s Department of Theater. When he got accepted, that was the end of all discussion. He was free to pursue his passion.
