Idols Love Beyoncé: 9 Times Idols Proved Beyoncé is the Queen of the World

Now “Beyoncé” and “K-Pop” can be mentioned in the same sentence.

Love her or hate her, Beyoncé is one of the most influential global performers of our generation. It’s no surprise, then, that some of our favorite K-Pop idols have her as their idol. Here’s a list of times that the K-Pop world and Beyoncé have collided.

1. Chungha Dancing to “Partition” for Produce 101 Evaluation

Chungha all on his mouth like liquor. “Chungha” was on the world’s mouth when she wowed Produce 101 judges with her on-the-spot dance to Beyoncé’s “Partition”.

“Partition” was a random song picked for her by the judges, but she danced flawlessly in what became a viral clip.

Chungha’s performance earned her the coveted rank of “A”.

2. BLACKPINK Also Dancing to “Partition” on JYP’s Party People

Known to have a “duality” concept, BLACKPINK came to JYP’s Party People to unveil to the world their sexy chic “BLACK” side.

The song they chose to showcase their sexiness was none other than Beyoncé’s “Partition”. JYP and the audience alike were absolutely stunned.

They’ve since added the dance routine to their current “In Your Area” world tour setlist. Yoncé would be proud.

3. Rosé Singing Irreplaceable on Fantastic Duo

During her appearance on Fantastic Duo, BLACKPINK’s Rosé stunned the audience with her performance of Beyoncé’s “Irreplaceable”.

Rosé’s performance got her some praise from Gummy, ex-YG singer and vocal trainer whom she was regretful to not have had the chance to be taught by.

Just look at their names. Rosé. Beyoncé. Coincidence? I think not.

4. The “#ARMYHiveStreamingParty”

While ARMY isn’t an idol group, this interaction between two of the most notorious fandoms on the internet went down in history.

In a bid to get their respective artists a #1 on the digital charts, Beyhive and ARMY banded together. Twitter user @MADBLACKTHOT01 created the Spotify playlist that would unite the fandoms.

The hashtags #ARMYHiveStreamingParty and #ARMYHiveProject trended worldwide for hours on June 20, 2018. Much like the trailblazing artists they follow, the two fandoms paved the way for more collaborative streaming parties.

5. Park Bom Telling Herself “You are Beyoncé” Before Going on Stage

In an episode of 2NE1TV, Park Bom revealed that before she goes on stage she tells herself that she’s no longer Park Bom, but that she is Beyoncé.

Always be yourself, unless you can be Beyoncé. Or Park Bom.

6. MONSTA X Attending OTRII

On June 21, 2018 MONSTA X’s Jooheon uploaded a picture of him, IM, and Shownu in the audience at Beyoncé & Jay Z’s joint On The Run II Tour.

Jooheon said he hopes to be to Monbebes what Beyoncé and Jay Z are to him.

7. Highlight’s Gikwang

While in a music show waiting room with his members, Highlight’s Gikwang was spotted by Yoseob watching Beyoncé’s “Move Your Body” music video. When asked, Gikwang naturally responded that he was watching “Yoncé noona.”

Noona is used by males to address their older sisters or slightly older women they are close to. Gikwang adressing Beyoncé as noona is cute and funny (as well as very respectful), but if she actually were his noona that would be one talented family.

8. Ultimte Beyoncé fanboy: The Boyz Kevin

The most well-known Idol Beyoncé fanboy is none other than The Boyz’s Kevin.

A fan brought Kevin a cardboard cutout of his idol’s face to a The Boyz fansign.

Replying to a fan asking if he’d heard Beyoncé & Jay Z’s joint album as The Carters, he (hopefully) jokingly replied that he’d be changing his last name to “Carter”. Kevin Carter. Has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?

After a dazzling vocal performance of Destiny’s Child’s “Bills, Bills, Bills” on Weekly Idol, Kevin sent a special video message to his idol, Beyoncé.

At the end of his message he shared his hope that, like BTS, The Boyz would one day be able to stand on the same stage as Beyoncé. Their fans, known as The B, hope so too! The Boyz, fighting!

9. Jo Kwon’s Iconic performance of “Crazy In Love” in Drag

2AM’s Jo Kwon had his own “World stop… carry on” moment when he shut down the Golden Tambourine stage in drag as the Queen Bey herself.

It’s not easy to emulate the stage presence that makes Beyoncé one of the greatest performers of all time, but Jo Kwon unleashed his inner Sasha Fierce and delivered a jaw-dropping rendition of “Crazy In Love”.

Men and women alike in the audience rose to their feet in applause, inevitably pulled in by the epic performance. If you’re ready to fall crazy in love, watch the full performance below.

With K-Pop becoming more and more global, maybe some day in the future we’ll get more direct interactions between the Queen Bey and K-Pop royalty.
