Why ARMYs Are Editing FINNEAS Out Of BTS’s J-Hope And RM’s Photo With Him And Billie Eilish

While they may be a fan of his sister, they are not of his.

BTS‘s J-Hope and RM recently attended American singer-songwriter Billie Eilish‘s concert at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.

The two were “Happier Than Ever” as they not only attended the concert but met Billie and her brother, singer-songwriter FINNEAS, backstage. They both shared photos from the night on Instagram.

TXT‘s Yeonjun, Taehyun, and Beomgyu also attended, so fans have edited photos of them with J-Hope and RM to make it seem like they all met with Billie.

Yet, notably, FINNEAS is always left out in the edited photos. Some ARMYs even edited him out of the group shot period.

But we have the answer as to why.

In 2020, FINNEAS had like a tweet joking that if “BTS get Coronavirus,” ARMY would discover a cure immediately.

Not only was it insensitive to joke about a virus that has now resulted in millions of deaths, but its implications also seemed to wish for the members to contract it. And unfortunately, the AAPI (Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders) community has already suffered an increase in hate crimes and racism as a result of COVID-19 and anti-Asian rhetoric.

While this is what has put FINNEAS in hot water with ARMYs, he has actually been under criticism for even more, also due to COVID-19. Netizens pointed out his inconsistency, criticizing moviegoers while he and his sister headline music festivals, which are far larger crowds.

Nonetheless, in 2021, FINNEAS did address the previous criticism regarding the BTS tweet. He apologized in a series of tweets.

On the other hand, Billie Eilish has a good track record with BTS and ARMY. Read more below.
