Following V who explained why he chose to include “Singularity” and “00:00 (Zero O’Clock),” Jin appeared next with his own explanation for “Moon” And “Jamais Vu.” Most recently, Jimin explained his decision to include the two tracks he selected.

I wanted ‘Filter’ and ‘Friends’ to be included in this album.

— Jimin

Jimin once explained the true meaning of his song “Filter.” In an interview with Spotify, he shared that the term can represent both a camera application on social media or people’s perspective and prejudice. With these meanings in mind, he shared how he wishes to present himself to the world in different ways.

I wanted to live up to ARMY’s expectations and show them many different sides of myself. And I still have many different colors left to share.

— Jimin

He reflects on how being swayed by the opinions of others might have lead him to appear as something he isn’t, or “colorless.”

I might have come across as being colorless instead of colorful if I’d have accommodated myself to other people’s ideas without having a distinct hue of my own.

– Jimin

However, he stays grounded through his second song choice of “Friends,” representing those he cares most about in life.

But my “Friends” — the members and ARMY – were always there to help me remind myself of what my essence is, and keep myself centered. You are my ‘Proof.’

With both the members and ARMY by his side, he’s reminded of who he really is and stays true to himself!
