BTS Producer Docskim Responds To Mike Dean’s Controversial Comments

He’s “disappointed,” to say the least.

American producer Mike Dean is receiving criticism from fans for his comments about BTS. Now, one of BTS’s longtime producers is also weighing in.

On Twitter, Mike Dean instigated a feud with BTS’s fandom with a series of tweets that question the validity of BTS’s music and fans’ love for it.

The producer also questioned BTS’s legitimacy as songwriters, claiming that BTS does not write most of their own music.

Mike Dean has since tweeted an apology and an explanation for his actions. He stated that he made a post he “shouldn’t have made” because he was angry about the 2022 GRAMMYs’ results for “Album of the Year.”

At the 2022 GRAMMYs, Kanye West‘s album Donda, co-produced by Mike Dean, was nominated for “Album of the Year.” The award went to Jon Batiste for We Are.

BigHit Music producer Docskim says he is “disappointed” in Mike Dean, who he looked up to as a senior in the industry. He also defended BTS, calling them “amazingly talented.”

Docskim began working with BTS as a keyboardist. He credits Jimin‘s solo “Lie,” a song from BTS’s 2016 WINGS album, with launching his career as a producer.

If anyone knows how skilled the BTS members are, it’s the people who have spent years working with them behind the scenes.
