BTS’s Suga And J-Hope Reflect On The Past Year Amidst The Pandemic And Reveal Their Driving Force

Everyone can relate to this.

BTS recently held a press conference for “Butter” on May 21, 2021. During the press conference, they talked about various topics. One question brought up by a reporter was on how they felt during the rollercoaster that was 2020.

Perhaps this is a topic that has been weighing on everyone’s mind, given the pandemic that has yet to cease. Suga revealed that the past year for him, has in fact, been one of development and opportunity rather than pain. J-Hope echoes this sentiment.

Facing the situation of covid19, we were also thrown into confusion when our many plans folded, but we ended up releasing a digital single we originally had no plans for, as well as experienced very happy things while working on our album, and got to feel new emotions. Just as the question was, it was indeed a year like a rollercoaster.

J-Hope also shared that music was what really helped him pull through.

However, amidst all that, music played the biggest role. Even when we had it the hardest and were feeling the most insecure, what broke through all of that was music. All the happy things and good things were all brought to us by music as well. Experiencing the past year, I really felt that music can bring such a huge and amazing strength. In the future, I think I’d want to make more good music so as to give out good energy.

— J-Hope

What a positive way to put it! We certainly agree that music plays a huge role in healing the masses. On that note, check out their latest song, “Butter” below.
