BTS V’s Solo For “Itaewon Class” OST Tops Charts In 77 Countries

What an accomplishment!

While BTS‘s first 4 stops for their Map of the Soul tour were sadly cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak, fans of the group can be happy that they get yet another new song from member V.

He recently came out with an OST for the K-Drama Itaewon Class with the song titled “Sweet Night”. His soft, soothing vocals and emotional voice have made fans everywhere swoon with this beautiful release.

The song, which V also helped produce, made a huge splash in the world’s music charts. It reached #1 in the iTunes charts in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia… As well as a whopping 73 other countries.

Because of this, the song has now also been ranked #2 as the song performed by a Korean artist to reach the most #1 spots in the iTunes Top Songs chart worldwide, only coming behind Psy‘s “Gangnam Style” (which came out at #1 in 86 countries).

Lastly, the song is only the second Korean song to top the iTunes chart in the United Kingdom (again after “Gangnam Style”) and is also the first song from the OST of a K-Drama to top the iTunes charts in the United States and United Kingdom. Congratulations, V!
