EXO’s Baekhyun Becomes First ‘Million Seller’ In 19 Years With “Delight”

Baekhyun has officially broken the 19 year drought.

EXO’s Baekhyun has become a million seller artist with his second mini album Delight. Since the release of the album on May 25, it has sold a total of 1,018,746 copies, making him the first solo artist in 19 years to reach over a million copies. The last artist to reach this number was back in 2001 by singer Kim Gun Mo’s seventh album.

He also left a special message for EXO-L‘s, thanking them for allowing him to receive this special achievement.

EXO as a group also became million sellers with their first album in 2013 to surpass a million copies in 12 years. Their first through fifth albums all sold over a million copies, making them a quintuple million seller as both a group and solo artist.

This also makes Baekhyun the second artist to receive the title of “million seller” as both a solo and group after Seo Taiji of Seo Taiji and Boys.

This album also topped various music charts including the iTunes Top Album Chart in 69 countries. He also became the first Korean artist this year to hit a triple platinum album on China’s QQ Music.

The hashtag #큥_밀리언셀러_축하해 also began trending on Twitter as fans left messages of support and congrats on his achievement!

Congrats to Baekhyun!
