4 New K-Pop Songs And 2 New Albums Just Debuted On Billboard World Charts

One artist has never charted before!

The lists of songs and albums for Billboard‘s World Digital Song Sales chart and World Albums chart have recently been posted for the week of May 15.

The World Digital Song Sales chart lists the 25 best-selling international songs in the United States each week, while the World Albums chart does the same for the top 15 international albums!

K-Pop has become a staple part of these weekly charts, and in fact, for this week, thirteen of the twenty-five songs on the World Digital Song Sales chart and thirteen of the fifteen listings on the World Albums chart are from the K-Pop genre!

Of those ranking on each chart this week, two albums and four songs are newly debuting for the first time.

BTS’s RM

Starting with the World Digital Song Sales chart, the highest-ranking new K-Pop song is “Don’t” by eAeon ft. BTS‘s RM! It’s debuting at the top of the chart at #1, and is the duo’s second time ranking together on the list with a collab.

“Badbye” by RM ft. eAeon peaked at #14 back in 2018, so it seems that fans enjoy it when these two work together!

The next highest-ranking new song to debut on the chart is ITZY‘s latest single, “In the Morning”. For it’s first week, it’s ranked at #3! This is ITZY’s 8th song to make it onto this list, and also their now second-highest peaking, with “DALLA DALLA” reaching #2 in 2019.

Next up on the World Digital Song Sales chart is “I’m Always By Your Side” by John Park. The song, which is from the OST for the K-Drama Vincenzo, is listed at #15 this week, and is John’s first time making it on the chart!

The last new song to make this chart this week is (G)I-DLE‘s “Last Dance”, which was released as a digital single in collaboration with the UNIVERSE app. It comes in at #16 for its debut, and is the group’s 9th song to rank on this chart, with their highest-peaking being “HANN (Alone)” which reached #2 in 2018.

As far as albums on the World Albums chart go, ITZY’s Guess Who? made its debut on the chart at #2! This is their fourth album, and also their highest-peaking, to rank on this Billboard chart.

The second new album to make it onto the World Albums chart this week is, perhaps surprisingly, (G)I-DLE’s most recent albim I Burn. The album originally came out in January, but it might be due to their latest single that the group saw an increase in album sales that was enough to get them on the chart at #10! It’s their fourth album to make this list, with I Trust reaching the highest ranking at #4 last year.

Congratulations to all the newly charting artists!
