On the latest episode of GOING SEVENTEEN, a fan asked SEVENTEEN for advice on handling a friend who’s always canceling plans last-minute. Fortunately for them, they knew Hoshi had a habit of doing something similar with NCT‘s Doyoung.
Despite being close friends with someone for fifteen years, the fan revealed that same friend often cancels plans last-minute and gives excuses that blame the fan for being “so sensitive.” Although their radio segment was called Don’t Frown, all of them felt upset on behalf of the fan.
Mingyu: What’s with this friend?
Hoshi: I would break off our friendship.
Seungkwan: Me too.
Mingyu: I think this is so disrespectful and rude to the other person.
That’s when Hoshi revealed he was in a similar situation because he “often had to cancel plans on the day of” with a close friend. Seungkwan didn’t hold back and immediately revealed it was Doyoung.
Although they tried to get Doyoung’s side by giving him a call, Seungkwan joked that him not picking up the call was a sign he’d ended his friendship with Hoshi. After they all laughed, Hoshi explained how he was much more respectful than the fan’s friend.
Instead of blaming anyone else, Hoshi was a true friend for always taking accountability for his last-minute cancelations with Doyoung.
But, I never placed the fault on Doyoung. It was my fault.
Since the two have remained close friends, it looks like Doyoung understands how busy their lives can get and how sincere Hoshi’s apologies are.
