“Single’s Inferno” Song Ji A Was Offered The Chance To Become A K-Pop Idol Multiple Times, But Here’s Why She Turned It Down

It’s not like she doesn’t have the talent!

Netflix‘s new show Single’s Inferno has quickly gained attention worldwide for its addictiveness. The series followed a group of good-looking Korean contestants looking for love on a secluded island, similar to the Western show Love Island.

After the show’s success, the contestants on the show have seen their popularity soar. One person who was already famous before the reality show but has seen more global fame is social media influencer Song Ji A, known as Free Zia.

In a recent video, Ji A sat down and answered questions from her viewers to celebrate hitting one million subscribers, which her rising popularity from the show has probably helped. In particular, she spoke about things like whether the show was scripted, her personality, and more.

Yet, there was one question that seemed to be a hot topic.

With her visuals, it isn’t surprising that viewers wanted to know whether she had ever wanted to be an idol or if a K-Pop agency had tried to cast her. Even though netizens don’t know talent, it is normal for agents to cast people on the street, especially if they have a certain look.

Unsurprisingly, Ji A explained, “Of course, I’ve received a lot of offers.” Considering how much star quality she has, it isn’t surprising in the least, and it is easy to assume, like with Single’s Inferno, casting agents probably spent a lot of effort trying to recruit her.

Yet, she turned them down and explained why added that an idol’s life wasn’t something she would enjoy. In fact, it seems like it’s the complete opposite of what she wants to do.

I don’t like singing much. No, I really hate it. I really didn’t want to become a K-Pop idol and I do everything I want to do.

She then went on to say, “Singing and dancing isn’t for me.” Although there isn’t much evidence of how well she can sing, Ji A has done plenty of dancing on her channel, and she is definitely good at it. In fact, she was even a dance major at  Hanyang University.

Yet, even though it isn’t something Ji A wants to do, it isn’t surprising that Ji A was scouted several times because not only does she have the visuals…

But her looks and beauty have also been compared to other idols like BLACKPINK‘s Jennie and IVE‘s Wonyoung.

Whether Ji A has the talent to be an idol or not, there is no denying that she has the visuals and personality to fit into the industry. Yet, she doesn’t seem to need K-Pop to make a name for herself as she had already gained worldwide popularity, even before Single’s Inferno started
