Sung Dong Il has a golden rule when he hangs out with his younger “hoobaes.”

Veteran actor, Sung Dong Il recently spoke in an interview where he talked about why he thinks he’s close with “hoobaes” such as BTS‘s V and Park Bo Gum despite their age gap.

During the interview, it was brought up that BTS’s V and Park Bo Gum visited him on the set of his new movie, Collateral.

And that’s when Sung Dong Il opened up about the special way he interacts with his “hoobaes” that make them stick around.

You know how it is when you get older. You eat pork belly with soju. But when kids eat, how much can they possibly eat? It’s no more than ₩500,000 KRW (about $427 USD).

He continued to explain,

Rather than meeting up with them to talk about me, I listen to what they have to say. And I think they like that.

Sung Dong Il then elaborated on their his conversations go.

I listen to my hoobaes talk because I’m curious. But we never talk about acting. I don’t try to teach them about what acting is. I ask them what they want to eat, they tell me, we joke around and talk about fun stuff, and then we go home.

— Sung Dong Il

The actor concluded,

The kids probably thinks it’s fun. Because an old sunbae is listening to them talk. I think that’s it. Nothing special. I just listen to them.
