BTS‘s “Butter” is one of the group’s biggest songs ever as it topped Billboard‘s HOT 100 for the seventh week in a row. The CD also sold almost 2 million copies in just the first week of sales!
With the song becoming popular around the world, it’s easy to see how the melody would be stuck in everyone’s heads. This continuous earworm has led fans to find a fun jingle quite similar to the song we all know and love!
The sound comes from the 1992 video game Monster in My Pocket, which Konami produced for the NES system. The game was based on an old comic book series. The sound comes for the fourth level of the game titled “Tower Catastrophe” and was composed by Kozo Nakamura and Hiroshi Takeyashu.
Have a listen! (Note: The similarities come around the 8-second mark.)
The similarities entertained netizens, and the almost 30-year-old game has been gaining a lot of love for it!
