BLACKPINK’s Rosé Reveals Everything You Wanted To Know About Her Impeccable Fashion

From her earliest style memory to what fashion means to her.

This year, BLACKPINK’s Rosé is taking the whole world by storm as Yves Saint Laurent’s global ambassador. As her campaign turns heads, the first Korean to be featured in a ready-to-wear luxury campaign sat down with Vogue magazine to reveal all her style secrets.

Rosé has been a fashionista since long before she debuted with BLACKPINK. In the interview, she revealed her earliest fashion memory. When she was around 15, Rosé used to steal her the bags her mother used as a young woman. These true vintage pieces led to her interest in the more classic style of fashion.

I think I started dressing up loving bags that looked vintage rather than brand new.

In fact, Rosé says her favorite thing about Anthony Vaccarello (who invited her to be part of Saint Laurent’s Fall/Winter 2020-2021 campaign) is how classic and timeless his work is.

I’ve been a fan of Saint Laurent and Anthony for a while so when the opportunity came up I was excited to be a part of it. It was so much fun working with such creatives that I admire and respect.

While BLACKPINK wear a lot of extravagant outfits on stage, Rosé says she keeps things casual when she’s not working. Her go-to pieces are jeans, t-shirts, day dresses, small crossover bags, and white sneakers.

According to Rosé, balancing this casual look with Saint Laurent’s style is easy. The classic, vintage-style items the brand sells mesh perfectly with casual outfits, which is why the brand is such a great fit for her.

Something I would never part with would be my oversized Saint Laurent blazers.

Two trends from the brand’s Fall/Winter collection have really caught her eye this year. She plans to follow the trend of vibrant jackets with matching blouses and scarves, and she loves the Saint Laurent black latex bodycon dresses.

The other day I wore [the black tight latex dress] for a shoot and it was the most simple but empowering and sexy dress I had ever worn.

Of course, it’s still summer in Korea. So, right now, Rosé is loving the wide-legged pants and crop top trend.

Ultimately, Rosé says her style is a reflection of her personality—so much so that you can learn more about her just by analyzing her outfits.

I think fashion reflects a lot of my personality. If you look into why I wore this and what made me wear that, you will learn what the process of my brain is like.
